Nyangu Technology Limited(“Nyangu”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates a digital platform for verified property listings, rental management, hospitality accommodation, and related real estate services (“the Services”). We take data protection and privacy seriously and are committed to ensuring that the personal information of our Users is handled lawfully, securely, and transparently.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, store, disclose, and safeguard the personal information you provide when you access or use our website, mobile application, or any service offered through the Nyangu Platform (“the Platform”). It also explains the choices and rights you have under applicable data protection laws.
By accepting this Privacy Policy or by accessing and using the Platform, you expressly consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Policy forms part of and is incorporated by reference into our Terms and Conditions.
Nyangu may update or amend this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. The revised version will be posted on the Platform, and your continued use after any such update constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy. We therefore recommend that you periodically review this page.
Where we determine the purpose or means of processing your personal data collected through the Platform, we act as the Data Controller. Nyangu complies with all applicable data protection laws in Nigeria, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA 2023), and any other regulations that may apply.

1.0INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

1.1Nyangu collects personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register an account, list a property, complete a transaction, submit verification documents, communicate with Users, or access our Services. We process this information where necessary to provide the Services, to comply with law, based on your consent, or where we have a legitimate interest (such as maintaining security, improving our Services, or conducting analytics).


1.1.1Contact, Account, and Profile Information

Such as your first name, last name, phone number, postal address, email address, date of birth, and profile photo, some of which will depend on the features you use.


1.1.2Identity Information

Where appropriate, and in accordance with applicable laws, we may request an image of your government-issued identification document(s) such as your international passport, national ID card, or driver’s license for identity verification purposes. We may also ask for other verification details, including your date of birth, address, email address, phone number, digital identity, and/or a selfie. If you provide us with a copy of your ID, we will collect and process the information contained within it.


1.1.3Payment Transaction Information.

We will request information such as your payment account details, credit card information, bank account information, payment method used, transaction date and time, payment amount, payment method expiration date, billing postal code, PayPal email address, IBAN, physical address, and other relevant transaction details. We will utilize a third-party payment processing company to collect payment information, including your credit card number, billing address and phone number. The third-party service provider, and not us, store your payment information on our behalf and would be responsible for its security.

You can choose to provide us with additional personal information, including:

  1. gender, preferred language(s), city, personal description, and any additional profile information you provide
  2. payment instrument or contact information belonging to another person. By providing us with personal information about others, you certify that you have permission to provide that information to Nyangu for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and you have shared the Nyangu Privacy Policy with them.
  3. Support information like call recordings and transcripts consistent with the requirements under applicable law, chat information, and messages collected to provide customer support services, including investigating and responding to user concerns and monitoring and improving our support processes.
  4. Other information when you fill in a form, add information to your account, respond to surveys, participate in research, post to community forums, participate in promotions, import or manually enter address book contacts, provide your address and/or geolocation, provide business information, or share your experience with us. This may include health information if you choose to share it with us.

1.2Information Automatically Collected by Us

  1. Geolocation information determined from your IP address, mobile or other device’s GPS, or other information you share with us, depending on your device settings. We may also collect this information when you’re not using the app if you enable this through your settings or device permissions.
  2. searches for Listings, bookings you have made, additional services you have added, access dates and times, the pages you have viewed or engaged with before or after using the Nyangu Platform, and other actions on the Nyangu Platform, including the pages or content you view and links you click to third-party applications. We may collect this information even if you have not created an account or logged in.
  3. Support information like call recordings and transcripts consistent with the requirements under applicable law, chat information, and messages collected to provide customer support services, including investigating and responding to user concerns and monitoring and improving our support processes.

3THIRD-PARTY PARTNERS AND INTEGRATIONS

You may link your Nyangu account to third-party services (e.g., Google, Meta, payment providers). When you do so, we may receive information those services share with us. This information may be used for fraud prevention, security investigations, and risk assessments.

We may also share necessary booking, verification, or transaction information with third-party partners (e.g., hotels, property managers, payment gateways) as required to fulfil a service.

Additionally, parts of our platform may include links to services run by third parties, which we do not control. If you choose to use these services, you are sharing information directly with them, and their own privacy policies and terms will apply. These may include providers such as Google Maps, PayPal, etc. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies to understand how they handle your information.

4SECURITY OF DATA:

When we collect, process, and retain personal information, we take all commercially reasonable and industry-standard measures to protect such information against loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. We implement and continuously update a combination of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to secure your information throughout its lifecycle on the Platform.

These safeguards include—but are not limited to—data encryption, access controls, authentication procedures, secure server environments, monitoring systems, and regular security assessments. However, you acknowledge that no method of electronic transmission, storage, or processing over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and Nyangu cannot and does not guarantee absolute security of your personal data. Notwithstanding this, we will comply with all applicable data protection laws in Nigeria, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, with respect to any data breach, notification requirement, or security incident.

You are responsible for selecting strong, unique passwords or PINs, maintaining the confidentiality of your login information, and ensuring the overall security of your devices and account access credentials. Nyangu shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to secure your account information.

While no organization can guarantee perfect security, Nyangu is committed to maintaining a robust and evolving security framework and will continue to enhance and update our protective measures to safeguard your information against unauthorized or unlawful access, loss, destruction, or alteration.

5TRANSFER AND PROCESSING OF DATA

Your personal information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to, stored in, or processed on servers and systems located outside your state, region, or country of residence. These jurisdictions may have data protection laws that differ from those of your home jurisdiction. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur as part of the operation of our Services.

If you are located outside Nigeria and choose to provide personal information to Nyangu, you expressly acknowledge that your data will be transferred to, and processed in, Nigeria, where the Platform’s core systems and servers are maintained. Nyangu will ensure that any such transfer is carried out in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and that adequate safeguards are implemented to protect your personal information.

Nyangu will only collect and process personal information where it is necessary for the performance of our contractual obligations to you, to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, where we have obtained your consent, or where such processing is required to pursue our legitimate interests, provided that such interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights, freedoms, or data protection interests. 7CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
